simplicity...

so springsteen was fighting with his record company over lip synching -- they wanted him to do it and he was refusing...he puts out brilliant disguise, my favorite of his, by the way, and they fight and fight and fight over the video for it -- and this was their compromise -- there's a backing track of everything but the vocals being played -- and he sings over it as they're taping -- one take and he essentially threw his middle finger up to the record company execs -- gotta love it...

think he cares about what he's doing??
