vol. 8

wow...still waiting on my heart to slow back down to a normal rhythm...

• so i was going nuts waiting for the game to start yesterday and i went to the waterfront to see the wrestler -- very good -- don't know that it's best picture of the year, good, but it's definitely very good... mickey rourke, on the other hand, was incredible -- it was very difficult to watch him looking the way that he does now, though -- it's almost like he's a caricature of himself...see the pic to the right for visual proof to this...
  
• aronofsky used some interesting techniques throughout, but took his audience to be idiots in what was about to be the best, most poignant scene in a movie in quite some time -- instead it was like being hit over the head with a metaphor... (don't want to ruin it for people who might see the movie -- if you've seen it, let me know -- would love to know your opinion on it...)
• by the way...i absolutely HATE studio wrestling -- don't let that prevent you from seeing the movie...
  
• i'm a creature of habit when it comes to ordering the same exact thing in restaurants over and over... i know that i probably miss out on some good stuff, but if there's something i know is guaranteed to be good, i'm going with rather safe than sorry... that being said, there aren't many meals out there better than pf chang's mongolian beef -- can't beat it -- but i'm sure that there are a ton of other great things on that menu...
